Build with AI
You can build your Holidu integration with an AI coding assistant. Everything on this site is also published in formats that assistants read well, so they can work from the same documentation you do.
Develop against https://provider-api-sandbox.holidu.com with your sandbox API key. Never paste your live API key into a prompt, a chat or generated code. Calls to the live API change real listings that guests can book.
What is available
| Resource | URL | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Markdown version of every page | Any page URL plus .md, e.g. /docs/photos.md | Reading one page without the HTML |
| Markdown by content negotiation | Any page URL with Accept: text/markdown | Assistants that ask for Markdown get it automatically |
| Index of all pages | /llms.txt | Letting an assistant find the right page |
| All pages in one file | /llms-full.txt | Loading the whole documentation at once |
| OpenAPI spec | /openapi/connectivity-api.json | Generating a typed client (see Generating API Client Code) |
| Integration skill | /.well-known/agent-skills/index.json | Teaching an assistant the integration steps, the validation loop and the go-live requirements |
| API catalog | /.well-known/api-catalog | Machine-readable list of our APIs and their specs |
| MCP server | https://developer.holidu.com/mcp | Letting an assistant search and read these docs, look up operations and check an apartment in the sandbox |
Give your assistant the integration skill
The skill integrate-with-holidu-hapi-v2 is a single SKILL.md file in the Agent Skills format. It describes the order of calls that makes an apartment bookable, how to read the validation result, and what we check before you go live. It links to the pages on this site for the details.
Assistants that support skill discovery find it through /.well-known/agent-skills/index.json. To add it to a project by hand, for example for Claude Code:
mkdir -p .claude/skills/integrate-with-holidu-hapi-v2
curl -sSf -o .claude/skills/integrate-with-holidu-hapi-v2/SKILL.md \
https://developer.holidu.com/.well-known/agent-skills/integrate-with-holidu-hapi-v2/SKILL.md
Other assistants that read SKILL.md files work the same way; check their documentation for the skills folder.
Connect the MCP server
Our Model Context Protocol server gives an assistant five read-only tools:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_docs | Searches every page of this site |
read_page | Returns one page as Markdown |
list_operations | Lists the API operations, by tag |
get_operation | Returns one operation: parameters, request body, responses |
For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http holidu-developer-hub https://developer.holidu.com/mcp
Other assistants take the same URL as a remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP server. The server is read-only, needs no credentials and calls no API: it answers from this site's own Markdown.
Point your assistant at the docs
If your assistant does not support skills, start your session with a prompt like:
We are integrating with the Holidu Connectivity API (HAPI v2).
Read https://developer.holidu.com/llms.txt and the OpenAPI spec at
https://developer.holidu.com/openapi/connectivity-api.json before writing code.
Use the sandbox base URL https://provider-api-sandbox.holidu.com.
Check your work
After pushing an apartment to the sandbox, call Get validation result of apartment. It returns the list of actions that are still missing before the apartment can be booked; the Validation guide explains each code. Before going live, go through the Requirements with your Technical Account Manager.
